1. What Brain Rate is

Brain Rate provides online cognitive assessments for personal interest and self-knowledge. Results are estimates reported as confidence intervals. Brain Rate is not a clinical or diagnostic assessment, is not administered or supervised by a licensed psychologist, and is not a substitute for the WAIS-IV, WISC-V, Stanford-Binet or any supervised intelligence assessment.

You must not use Brain Rate results for employment, educational placement, immigration, legal, medical or any other consequential decision.

Brain Rate is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accredited by Mensa, Pearson, any university, or any professional psychological body.

2. Eligibility

Brain Rate is for ages 13 and over. By using the service you confirm you meet that requirement and that any information you give us is accurate.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend accounts used for abuse, fraud, automated scraping or attempts to extract the item bank.

4. Acceptable use

You may not copy, redistribute, resell or publish the assessment items, scoring parameters or reports; probe, scrape or automate access to the test; or attempt to circumvent payment or access controls. You may share your own result and certificate freely.

5. Payment

The short test is free. The full assessment is sold as a single one-time purchase that unlocks access on your account. It is not a subscription and nothing recurs or renews. Prices are shown in US dollars and are inclusive of applicable processor fees; taxes may be added where required.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details.

6. Refunds

Refunds are granted for: Duplicate charges; Technical failures that prevent access or scoring; Accidental purchases where the full paid assessment was not substantially used; Cases where you were charged but did not receive the unlock.

Refunds are not granted where: The paid assessment was completed; The full report or results were substantially accessed; The certificate was generated or downloaded; Repeated buy, use and refund requests from the same account.

Where a refund or chargeback is processed, access to the full assessment is revoked.

7. Availability and changes

We may update items, scoring, pricing and site content over time as calibration improves. We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Purchased access refers to the full assessment as offered at the time you use it.

8. Intellectual property

The site, its content, its scoring implementation and its reports are owned by Brain Rate or licensed to it. Item formats follow those described in published research; our specific items, parameters and presentation are ours.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided on an as-is basis without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that results reflect any specific real-world capability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of Brain Rate is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

We are not liable for decisions you or anyone else makes on the basis of a Brain Rate result.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. Material changes affecting purchased access will be communicated by email where we hold one.
